Public affairs made public. As a public affairs journalist, my directive was to simply, fairly and accurately outline key state policy and legislative issues to the general public. in this role, I honed my skills as a traditional TV host, executive producer, videographer, video editor, and key social media strategist.

FIELD REPORT (2016–19)

I hosted 3 seasons of ‘Field Report.’
It was a multimedia journalist operation.
I wrote, filmed, hosted, edited, and posted these programs to air in all TV markets in Washington. As Executive Producer of the show, I prepared these programs to air without any further approval. All programs were filmed using a Sony 4k Camcorder, Sennheiser lavalier microphone. The footage was edited in adobe premiere with graphics support from our creative department.

Here are a few examples of Field Report:

LEGISLATIVE REVIEW (2016–19)

In my capacity as a Public Affairs Journalist, I also hosted ‘Legislative Review.’ This program aired every weeknight during the legislative session. The goal was simple: take complex legislative issues and make them understandable for the general public. In total, I was the hosted and Executive Producer on over 250 episodes.

Here are a few examples:

In addition to the 10–15-minute programs, individual segments were created for social media:

Public Affairs Journalism: In the Classroom

In 2019, I was honored to connect with the Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program at the Evergreen State College. ‘Legislative Review’ was part of their graduate curriculum.

I sent them this video to thank them for watching.
